What is a RIA?
Description
Applications are rich or enriched
by their ability to integrate multimedia capabilities such
as sound, animation and video in addition to a grater degree
of interactivity between the application and the client´s
machine. The user can thus instantaneously interact with the
application without having to wait for roundtrips to and from
the server. RIA means true 2-ways communication between clients
and applications, moving away from the traditional page-to-page
Web navigation model.
Scene Evolution
The development of enriched applications
for the Internet responds to a necessity of elevating presentation
levels (front end) so that they have the ease and richness
users expect. RIAs focus on increasing ROI as a by product
of the optimization of the final user´s experience,
the reduction of the bandwidth and the server´s load.
RIAs allow to reach an on-line operation as efficient as that obtained with any desktop. This can be done thanks to multimedia capabilities and the possibility of a greater level of interaction between applications and the client’s machine
